I'm getting rid of my old cassettes, and I found something pretty unique that may interest a few fans of both guitarists, even if only for historic value, so here it is! I can't remember the exact date for this recording. Alan Holdsworth was invited to do a clinic at the Musician's Institute, and Eddie Van Halen joined in for the two last songs. Alan did talk and answered questions from the crowd, but I didn't record this part of the event. I made the recording, so what you get is a direct copy of the master cassette (that has never been shared or even been played since then). This is an audience recording, made with good portable equipment for the time, and I think the quality is nice. There's a blank at 6:30 into track 2 because of a tape flip. I also noticed two glitches somewhere else on the tape, but I can't find them right now. At the time, Jeff Berlin was teaching at the Musician's Institute. He may be the bass player here, but I can't remember for sure, as I didn't write anything on the tape. I'm not sure it's his tone here, but then who else? Also, as I was a little short on tape or batteries (or both), I didn't record any of the talking and introductions. Some off the applause wher abruptly cut, so I just added a little fade-out, but you basically get what's on the tape. This short concert happened around the time the Road Games album was recorded. About the songs, to me the whole thing sounds like an improvised jam, but please help if you know any of the song's titles. Enjoy !!!

It's funny how you've never shared or played this cassette because I downloaded this about 8 years ago on audiogalaxy, it's previous title was:
"Allan Holdsworth Rips Eddie Van Halen Ass @ M.I. 1982"
I'm not sure if these are the same files, because I havent downloaded these yet but how many Allan and Eddie files can there be? HA.
