John McLaughlin, Jack Bruce, Billy Cobham, Stu Goldberg - " Super Quartet" - Live at the Stadthalle in Bremen, Germany, October 20, 1979 [FLAC]
This group is often called the "Super Quartet" among fans.
Highly Recommended listening !!!
Please note:
The correct date of this show is most certainly October 20, 1979
Audience recording
Very good Sound Quality !!
The exact lineage is unknown but probably audience low gen tape > CDR
Provided by Hopboy
Musicians:
John McLaughlin - Guitars, Banjo
Jack Bruce - Bass
Billy Cobham - Drums
Stu Goldberg - Keys
Setlist:
1 Desire & The Comforter 14:47
2 Electric Dreams & Sighs 20:47
3 Miles Davis 11:21
Total time: 46:54
Notes:
On track one, John plays some freakishly good parts that the microphone just cant handle in brief, intense spots. Even these parts are not too shabby sound-wise. A clipping reduction program might be used on these "bursts" but I think it would only distract from the effects. I did not apply any reduction and left it the way it was .... On track 3 there is a tape cut at 5:38 After the cut, Jack's bass sounds like nothing you've ever heard him play. At first, I didn’t even realize it even *was* a bass guitar!
Taken from hopboys Jack Bruce collection
Enjoy !!!

looking forward to this...
My "clip" of the Quartet doing 'Desire and the Comforter' (from Fillmore East) is doing "OK" on youtube.
The slideshow is more than a little strange - but people appreciate that.
this is great ! usally I listen to nothing but blues on fridays but since I have been in a rut lately so I will have to make a change and make it a fusion friday and this show is just what the Dr ordered( pun intended).Thank you very much for sharing this one !
It's good to hear you are completely healed from your fusion-less Fridays my good patient!
Cheers
Thanks Doc, can't wait to hear this. Haven't heard them ever.
Much thanks
Craig
